1. Introduction

Scrollar ("we," "our," or "the App") is a screen time management application developed by NTU Develop. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in compliance with Apple's App Store Guidelines and applicable privacy laws.

2. Data We Collect

Scrollar is a local-first application. All personal data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Information you provide during setup:

  • First name
  • Age range
  • Profession category
  • Screen time reduction goals and goal intensity
  • Avatar preference

Information generated through app use:

  • Daily screen time usage statistics (read from your device via iOS Screen Time APIs)
  • App budget settings and group configurations
  • Usage history snapshots (automatically pruned after 30 days)
  • Pixel Pig progress (level, saved minutes, streaks)

3. How Your Data Is Stored

All data listed above is stored locally on your device using an encrypted local database. We do not operate servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure that store your personal data. Your data is included in your standard iOS device backups (iCloud or local). Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data.

4. Third-Party Services

RevenueCat (In-App Purchase Processing)
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives transaction-related data processed through the Apple App Store, including purchase receipts, subscription status, and an anonymous device identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your screen time data, usage statistics, profile information, or any other personal data from Scrollar. 5. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect analytics or behavioral tracking data
  • We do not use crash reporting services
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or ad tracking
  • We do not create user accounts or maintain server-side user profiles
  • We do not collect device identifiers for our own purposes
  • We do not share, sell, or rent your personal data to third parties

6. Device Permissions

Scrollar requests the following iOS permissions:

  • Screen Time / Family Controls: Required to read app usage data and apply app blocking. This data remains on your device.
  • Notifications: Optional. Used to send local nudge reminders when approaching your budget limit. No push notification servers are involved.

7. Children's Privacy

Scrollar is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App requires iOS Screen Time authorization, which is managed by the device owner.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Usage history is automatically pruned after 30 days. All other data persists until you uninstall the App. You may delete all data at any time by uninstalling Scrollar from your device. There is no server-side data to request deletion of.

9. Security

Your data is protected by iOS Data Protection, which encrypts data at the filesystem level when your device is locked. We do not implement additional custom encryption as we rely on Apple's platform-level protections.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Scrollar ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Scrollar is a screen time management application that helps you set daily usage budgets, block distracting apps, and track your progress. The App operates entirely on your device with no backend server dependency.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Scrollar. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

5. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Scrollar offers optional premium features ("Scrollar Premium") available through auto-renewable subscriptions or one-time purchases via the Apple App Store.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.

Free features include basic screen time tracking, up to 2 app groups, app blocking, and Pixel Pig progression. Premium features include CEO Mode, unlimited app groups, and Insights.

6. Screen Time Data and Blocking

Scrollar uses Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls frameworks to read usage data and apply app restrictions. The accuracy and availability of these features depend on iOS and are subject to Apple's platform limitations. Scrollar does not guarantee real-time accuracy of usage data — threshold-based tracking may lag a few minutes behind actual usage due to iOS platform characteristics.

7. No Guarantee of Service

Scrollar is a local-first application with no server infrastructure. While we strive to provide a reliable experience:

  • App blocking and usage tracking depend on iOS system frameworks that may change with OS updates.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • Data stored locally is subject to device storage limitations and user actions (e.g., uninstalling the App deletes all data).

8. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for its intended purpose of personal screen time management.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App.
  • Not use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, graphics, and the Pixel Pig character are the intellectual property of NTU Develop. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without written permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NTU DEVELOP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PRODUCTIVITY, OR DEVICE ISSUES.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [your jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. Changes to These Terms
